Utah-Based Worship Collective Opens New Era with September 11 Set

“These songs have been woven into our regular worship services and events, and they’ve had significant impact on our brothers and sisters in Utah,” shares The Rock Music founder Steele Croswhite, a former rock band frontman-turned-pastor who experienced the radical restoration of his faith at The Rock Church more than 20 years ago. “But the music isn’t limited to Utah. The themes of Truth, longing, and worship expressed in these songs are for the Church everywhere.”
Offering a preview of Not Alone, standout track “Yearning Heart”—penned by collective leaders Steele Croswhite and Caleb Yetton along with Ryan Hall (“Worthy Of It All”)—is now available on streaming platforms. The song’s inspiration came from Dane Ortlund’s Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers. “The book gripped me in its explanation of how God’s heart for us is yearning with affection, love and grace,” shares Croswhite. “Love compels Him towards us even on our worst day, and not only does He delight in us, but He rejoices over us with songs of gladness and joy.”
Additional album highlights include the impassioned “Loved Me at My Worst,” a balm of grace for the troubled soul; the reflective ballad “amazed again”; the timeless hymn “Jesus Paid It All,” spotlighting The Rock Music’s longtime worship leaders Caleb & Kelsea Yetton; a reimaged rock rendition of worship favorite “Good Good Father”; and the newly penned “Grace Will Come.” Written by Steele Croswhite, Caleb Yetton and Terell Davy, the latter track closes Not Alone with an earnest reminder of God’s faithfulness.
“There’s a line in ‘Grace Will Come’ that says, ‘Not alone in the dark or the desert/If we’re there, then You’re there/You won’t leave us,’” shares Croswhite. “Within the theme of all of these songs is that central Truth—Jesus is with us. He is close, gracious, compassionate, forgiving, good, and amazing. And we are His!”
