NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Dove Award-winning recording artist and sought-after Hollywood studio vocalist Steve Amerson was among the headline performers at Turning Point USA’s “Founders Ball 250,” taking the stage in addition to legendary singer/songwriters Don McLean (“American Pie”) and Lee Greenwood (“God Bless The USA”). Celebrating America’s semiquincentennial, the July 3 black-tie gala held in Washington, D.C., was highlighted by remarks from Vice President JD Vance, U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and Turning Point USA CEO and chair of the board Erika Kirk.

Following his appearance at the “Founders Ball 250,” Amerson returned to the West Coast to perform at the prestigious Hoover Institution at Stanford University. The Board of Overseers event took place earlier this month and featured Hoover Institution director and former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in conversation with Jack Clark, co-founder and head of policy at Anthropic, a San Francisco-based AI research company. The Hoover Institution is a public policy think tank advancing ideas that promote economic opportunity and prosperity, while securing and safeguarding peace for America and all mankind.

In tandem with his acclaimed music career, Amerson has been dedicated to serving America’s legislators for 12 years via his organization The Word on the Hill. A ministry of outreach and encouragement to members of Congress, The Word on the Hill has offered weekly worship services; a Bible study; and spiritual guidance upon request for lawmakers and their staff through the years. The nonprofit also hosts various special events including the popular “Carols in the Capitol” each December.

At the heart of The Word on the Hill is Amerson’s “ministry of presence,” as he personally delivers handwritten notes of encouragement to approximately 200 congressional offices each month. Since 2014, Amerson has shared more than 40,000 messages offering hope and inspiration, becoming a trusted nonpartisan confidant to senators and representatives, legislative staff, and Capitol personnel of all ranks.
