NASHVILLE, Tenn.—GRAMMY® nominated, Dove Award-winning Gospel music luminaries Ernie Haase & Signature Sound delivered a stirring rendition of the national anthem ahead of former President Donald Trump’s remarks at last week’s NRB Presidential Forum, which was held during the National Religious Broadcasters’ International Christian Media Convention in Nashville.
The quartet also shared their popular “America Medley”—featuring “America The Beautiful,” “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee” and “God Bless America”—and performed a selection of Ernie Haase & Signature Sound favorites, including “Get Away Jordan” and “Oh, What A Savior,” as well as their latest single, “We Are The Church,” before a capacity crowd of NRB conventioneers at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
“To sing our nation’s anthem in a public setting is always a sacred honor, and we were thrilled to be able to do just that at NRB,” Haase shares. “As we awaited President Trump’s speech that evening, it was also a privilege to have the opportunity to share some favorite songs from our repertoire. I’m thankful for all the new friends we made and all the old friends we were able to see at NRB as well.”
The NRB Presidential Forum, sponsored by Salem Media Group, Heritage Action for America and PRAY.COM, included remarks from Dr. Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation and Heritage Action for America; and Hugh Hewitt, host of The Hugh Hewitt Show and a professor of law at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law, along with the keynote address from former President Trump.
NRB is a nonpartisan, international association of Christian communicators whose member organizations represent millions of listeners, viewers and readers. The annual NRB International Christian Media Convention is the largest nationally and internationally recognized event dedicated solely to assist those in the field of Christian communications.
Following his 10-year tenure with the legendary Cathedral Quartet, Ernie Haase fulfilled a lifelong dream to helm his own group when he founded Signature Sound in 2003. The quartet quickly became genre leaders, amassing a prolific string of hit singles; multiple GRAMMY® nominations and GMA Dove Awards; a discography of bestselling recordings; and numerous Gold® and Platinum® DVDs. Known for such iconic anthems as “Jesus Changed Everything,” “Get Away Jordan,” “Reason Enough,” and Haase’s signature song, “Oh, What a Savior,” the group performs annually to capacity crowds throughout North America and they have taken the stage around the world, including concerts in Latvia, South Africa and New Zealand.
Commemorating two decades of music and ministry in 2023, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound marked the milestone with the release of Live in Amsterdam: A 20th Anniversary Celebration last summer. Comprised of Ernie Haase (first tenor), Dustin Doyle (second tenor/lead), Doug Anderson (lead/baritone) and Paul Harkey (bass), the group continues its unwavering mission to record and perform compelling music that points listeners to the Hope of Christ.
