LOS ANGELES—Inspirational vocalist, sought-after Hollywood session singer, Jefferson Gathering worship leader and veterans advocate Steve Amerson returns May 5 with The Collection, Vol. 2…And So We Sing (Amerson Music Ministries). The multi-faceted artist’s second set of fan favorites features standout tracks from select solo releases since 1998.

Fresh from recording sessions for the recent hit “Rogue One: A Star Was Story” and this year’s box office blockbuster, “La La Land”—where he is included in the off-camera chorus for the musical’s opening number, “Another Day of Sun”—Amerson returned to the studio to offer three new selections for The Collection, Vol. 2. The album features the title-cut, “And So We Sing,” as well as Amerson’s fresh renditions of the gospel favorite “He Looked Beyond My Fault and Saw My Need” and “The Mansions of the Lord,” the latter from the critically acclaimed 2002 motion picture “We Were Soldiers.”

In addition, The Collection, Vol. 2 includes “The Sea of God’s Forgetfulness” and “I’m Amazed” from Amerson’s 2001 release, The Cross in the Road; “Seigneur De Ma Vie” and “Kyrie” from 2005’s Sacred Spaces; and “This Must Be The Place” and the title-cut from 1998’s To The Ends of the Earth, among other career-defining songs.

“I’m so thrilled to release The Collection, Vol. 2, as this recording contains some of my favorite songs,” says Amerson. “I believe the music will encourage and challenge listeners, and I also hope people will continue to be touched by the lyrics and melodies.”

A guest soloist with symphony orchestras around the country, Amerson is also a regular worship leader for the historic Jefferson Gathering, the first weekly worship service to be held in the United States Capitol in nearly 150 years.

“Leading worship in the United States Capitol for The Jefferson Gathering is such an honor and privilege,” he shares. “God is using the power of a song and allowing me to encourage men and women who serve our nation in Washington, D.C. This is a crucial time in our nation’s history and I am praying that revival begins on Capitol Hill.”

A sought-after session singer and voiceover talent in Hollywood, Amerson has sung on some of the biggest box office hits of all time, including “Jurassic World,” “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” and “Home Alone”; as well as such iconic television shows as “Cheers,” “St. Elsewhere” and “Touched by an Angel”; and commercials for Honda, Texaco and Delta Airlines, among numerous others. An advocate for veterans and military service members, Amerson has performed at events benefiting The Gary Sinise Foundation and often sings for Congressional Medal of Honor events across the United States.
